Baltimore Peninsula Garden

Baltimore Peninsula Garden
Baltimore, Maryland

Unknown Studio provided full-service design services for a 3,000-square-foot rooftop garden oasis within the mixed use residential building at 250 Mission Ave, a key component of the Baltimore Peninsula waterfront redevelopment.

Serving as an extension of the residence amenity suite, and as a viewing garden from above, the Courtyard draws inspiration from Chesapeake Bay tidewater landscapes.

The garden offers intimate, human-scale pathways and seating areas, with native plantings that provide immersive seasonal displays and a dynamic play of light and shade. The undulating terrain adds depth and dimension, expanding the spatial experience beyond the courtyard’s compact footprint.

Enhancing the amenity spaces within, the garden includes flexible seating, a custom outdoor kitchen, water feature, fireplace, and secluded nooks for quiet relaxation amidst the city.

Vine-covered trellises extend from the ground level to the third-floor facade, merging with street-level plantings to create a lush green expression that both frames the streetscape and envelops the garden in greenery.
