2026 Promotions

Unknown Studio is excited to kick off 2026 by announcing five well-deserved promotions. In recognition of their professional excellence and outstanding contributions to the studio, we are thrilled to introduce a new Principal and three new Design Directors.
Emily Scott (PLA) has been promoted to Principal. Since joining us as a Director in 2021, Emily has become an invaluable member of our team, bringing a wealth of technical knowledge, which she enjoys sharing in order to empower her colleagues. Emily values excellence and beauty, which manifest in precise, elegant detailing and engaging storytelling through design that connects people with one another and the landscape.
Amanda Foran (PLA) has been promoted to Design Director. She comes to Unknown with a diverse experience and impressive work across both planning and design, while also bridging practice with academia. Amanda has a passion to create integrated, thriving human and ecological communities.
Erin Rudemiller (PLA) has been promoted to Design Director. Having joined Unknown Studio in 2019, with the studio’s first class of interns, Erin has since worked on multiple award-winning design projects and showcased design excellence at Unknown Studio. Her work is fueled by her commitment to providing accessible, beautiful, public spaces for all.
Audrey Seiz (PLA) has been promoted to Design Director. Audrey’s background bridges research, biology, environmental science, policy, and non-profit expertise. Her leadership, work ethic, and commitment to beautiful and vibrant landscapes encompasses all scales of work at Unknown Studio.
Grace Wenger has been promoted to Director of Operations. Since joining the Unknown Studio team in 2022, Grace has worked diligently to ensure that our Studio runs smoothly, bringing an enthusiasm and attention to detail that are imperative to our office environment.
